Phil Travers is an accomplished equine and animal artist of many years.
She has loved horses all her life, and has always enjoyed drawing and painting them. She is a self-taught artist and can work in all mediums from pencil to oil. The thoroughbred racehorse is a favourite subject, as she loves the power, speed and beauty of these magical animals. All horses are magical to her though and she will be happy to portray anything from a Shetland to a shire. Phil has had many commissions from people and not just horses, as she has done many dogs, cats and once was asked to paint a client's hamsters! Her work has been signed by many of the UK's leading racehorse jockeys and trainers, including Frankie Dettori, Kieren Fallon, Richard Dunwoody, Brendan Powell, Mark Johnston, Jack Berry, Josh Gifford and Clive Brittain. Paintings by Phil have been displayed at many stable open days and racecourses throughout Great Britain, and have often been auctioned or raffled in aid of the charity, Racing Welfare. Phil is the proud owner of Murphy, a bay 15 hand high cob, who is only five, and is still a big baby! Keeping Murphy company is Bob, a 21 year old ex-racehorse, who is a gentleman and much loved. Also in the menagerie is a border collie called Misty, who has been a loyal friend and companion for the past 15 years, and Josh, a rough collie who was rehomed from the Rough Collie Rescue when he was 2-3 years of age. He was discovered wandering the streets of Liverpool, but Josh is now 10, and with a home for life. And now to you. Phil would love to paint your beloved horse or pet. She pays tremendous attention to detail, and always endeavours to capture each animals individual character. |
